Program Philosophy

We believe there are many opportunities for play and learning throughout our environment. The Reggio Emilia philosophy of education is committed to the creation of conditions for learning that will enhance and facilitate children’s construction of their own powers of thinking through expressive, communicative and cognitive activities. The Reggio Emilia approach is based on principles of emergent curriculum, project work, collaboration, and environment. Utilizing an activity based learning enriched environment, children are free to explore and learn through play and first hand experiences. Each theme based curriculum is tailored specifically toward the children’s interests and taught in a fun, nurturing, stimulating environment.  We believe that children learn best through active participation with their environment and that the teacher’s job is to provide a variety opportunities and experiences to promote growth in all areas. We also accept all Best Beginnings or state assistance scholarship recipients and do not discriminate; children are accepted into the program regardless of race, national origin, color, sex, age, religion, or disability.  Priority will be given to children with siblings already enrolled in the program.
